Elizabeth Lynne Cheney (born July 28, 1966) is an American attorney and former U.S. representative for Wyoming’s at-large district (2017–2023). She chaired the House Republican Conference from 2019 to 2021 and is known for her opposition to Donald Trump.
Cheney held State Department posts in the George W. Bush administration and co-founded Keep America Safe in 2009. She was vice chair of the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, lost renomination in 2022, and as of March 2023 is a professor of practice at the University of Virginia Center for Politics.
