Louis Buller Gohmert Jr. (born August 18, 1953) is an American attorney, former judge and Republican politician who represented Texas’s 1st congressional district from 2005 to 2023.
A member of the Tea Party movement, Gohmert unsuccessfully challenged John Boehner for House Speaker in January 2015 and later ran for Texas attorney general in 2022, finishing fourth in the Republican primary with 17% of the vote.
